Two older male rock singers face each other mid-shout, gripping microphones passionately as if in a vocal showdown. The poster text reads, “Battle of the Blokes – Barnsey vs Farnsey: The Pub Sing-Off,” with the Mocktopus logo in the corner.

Barnesy and Farnesy to Settle It Once and For All in a Pub Sing-Off

After decades of debate, Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham (Barnsey and Farnsey) have officially agreed to settle Australia’s greatest question: who’s the true voice of the nation?

The pair will face off in a no-holds-barred pub sing-off, taking place at a yet-to-be-determined RSL somewhere between heaven, nostalgia, and a Carlton Draught.

Organisers say the event will feature three rounds:

The Anthem Round — Both must belt out You’re the Voice and Working Class Man while balancing a schooner on their head.

The Scream-Off — A decibel meter will measure which icon can make a bloke from Wagga cry first.

The Encore Deathmatch — Winner decided by which crowd member throws their underwear and a copy of Cold Chisel’s Greatest Hits simultaneously.

Sources close to both camps say Farnham has been “training his diaphragm like a UFC fighter,” while Barnes has been “mainlining espresso and gravel since dawn.”

In a joint statement, the pair promised to “give the people what they’ve wanted since the Keating years — closure, chaos, and possibly tinnitus.”

The sing-off will be broadcast live on every Aussie TV network except ABC, which will air a documentary titled Barnesy vs Farnesy: The Battle for Bunnings Playlist Supremacy.

Experts predict the event could unify the country, heal generational divides, and briefly make everyone forget about house prices.
