Ah yes, Chris Brown and Kevin McCall — the R&B duo that proved talent and self-awareness are apparently a trade-off.Chris Brown’s out here dodging court dates like backup dancers, while Kevin McCall’s fighting for residuals like a man auditioning for Judge Judy: The Mixtape.
Once upon a club banger, McCall wrote hits for Breezy — “Deuces,” “Strip,” a few others that made Chris rich and Kevin… nostalgic. Kevin’s now on Instagram explaining how he went from platinum plaques to EBT cards. Meanwhile, Chris is smashing bottles and streaming records. Multi-tasking king.
It’s poetic, really — one’s fighting for royalties, the other’s fighting security guards. One’s out of cash, the other’s out on bail. Both claim they’re misunderstood, and both are right… we just understand too much.
The moral? In the music biz, never sign your soul to a man who autographs assault charges, and never trust a songwriter who thinks “residuals” is a skin condition.
So here’s to the boys of bad decisions — Chris still breezy, Kevin still broke — proving that in R&B, ego lasts longer than careers.
